Tree experts say the recent increase in rainstorms could potentially damage trees.

Arborist Doug Williams with Bartlett Tree Experts says when the ground becomes too saturated with water it could cause disease in the roots of trees or make ends of the limbs heavy and could potentially send them falling to the ground below.

Williams says with all the rain in Connecticut in June it has been highly unusual and challenging to complete preventive maintenance.

He has been with the company for 25 years and says they have more than 2,500 clients in the greater Stamford area.

He says July could bring more rainstorms, and he is urging his clients to conduct preventive care now.

"We're going to have storms, it will happen, so now is the window. We always get those calls a day or two before the storm to come and do all the work for people who wait and panic, that never works out, so you’ve got to do it now. Don't wait," Williams says.
