Norwalk school officials say a student was the victim of an attempted abduction near West Rocks Middle School.
A message on the school's Web site says a man approached the student around 8 a.m. Tuesday and said "get in my car now."
The parent of the student told News 12 Connecticut that the school has done a great job of handling the situation on campus. However, the parent wants to know why Board of Education officials didn't make more of an effort to notify the general public.
Norwalk Superintendent Salvatore Corda says more police patrols have been added to the school area.
School officials say the suspect is a black man in his late 20s who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and described as having yellow, crooked teeth. Officials say he was driving a navy blue Ford SUV.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Norwalk Police Department at 203-854-3001.
