A week after a Bridgeport teen drowned at Seaside Park, beachgoers say they have seen a difference in lifeguard coverage. The same number of lifeguards is on duty as was the case the day Kevin Jean-Rene, 13, drowned. However, many say they are more attentive and stay closer to the water to the water to watch over swimmers. One mother says the lifeguards give her a sense of security, but she also makes sure the children she brought to the beach stand out in the water. City officials say the beach is adequately staffed with lifeguards.
