A bicyclist was struck by an SUV in Bridgeport Friday, officials say.

A bicyclist was struck by an SUV in Bridgeport Friday, officials say.
The incident happened at Old Town Road and Main Street around 11 a.m.
The SUV that struck the Trumbull man was going west on Old Town Road. The driver says the bicyclist ran a red light on his bicycle while going north on Main Street.
The bicyclist has been identified as 60-year-old George Chapley. He was treated by first responders at the scene, then rushed to the hospital.
The driver, 72-year-old Jesus Veloz, remained on the scene and cooperated with police.
Police say Chapley admitted he caused the accident. There is no word on his condition.
Police say Veloz was not charged.
