Stamford police were called to a condo complex this morning to investigate reports that a bomb was found.
Police evacuated a number of homes on Sylvan Knoll Road after a witness described a military-looking device in a yard. Officials say that the device was a non-explosive training shell and was removed by the bomb squad.
After the shell was removed, evacuated residents were allowed to return to their homes.
