Students were evacuated from Stamford Academy and sent home for the day after police say a bomb threat was called in by an unidentified person.
The threat was made shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday, and police cleared the scene in about an hour.
About 100 students attend the private school.
Another threat forced the evacuation of Stamford High School on Tuesday. Stamford Police Chief Jon Fontneau says that while the threat made to Stamford Academy is not identical to the robocall sent to the high school, the timing and type of threat are similar.
Mayor David Martin says he is working on new legislation to enact stricter penalties for prank callers.
In the meantime, police say they are collaborating with the FBI to trace the source of the calls.
