The Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich is bringing the winter holiday spirit to the middle of summer with its Holidays in July celebration.
Members at Camp Simmons cooled down from the heat with a special visit from Santa Claus.
He rode in on his summer sleigh -- a fire truck -- along with members of the Greenwich Fire Department and hosed the campers down with the cool water.
"We've been doing this event for over 25 years. It's a wonderful day that we have every year and the collaboration and partnership we have with the Greenwich Fire Department and all of our Greenwich officials. The kids look forward to this day all year, as do I, as do the rest of the staff," said Cristina Vittoria, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich.
Organizers say they look forward to these opportunities to unite the community for a day of fun.
