The City of Bridgeport marked 36 years Monday since the deadly L'Ambiance Plaza collapse.
A remembrance ceremony took place at City Hall. It included the laying of a wreath at the L'Ambiance Plaza Memorial to
honor the 28 people who died in the collapse. Elected officials, first responders, local building trade union members and family members of the victims were in attendance.
The collapse happened on April 23, 1987 near Coleman Street and Washington Avenue where the plaza was under construction.
Faulty lift-slab construction was to blame, killing 28 workers. It's the most deadly building collapse in state history.
