Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim says a city project manager has been suspended for owing tens of thousands of dollars in back property taxes.
Officials say Daniel Pizarro owns multiple properties in the city.
They say collection agencies are now working to recover some of the taxes owed.
Officials say Pizarro was Ganim's campaign driver before taking the city job.
Ganim says he was not aware of Pizzarro's financial issues when he hired him.
