Bridgeport residents John Randall Patrick Sr. and his brother spoke publicly for the first time on Saturday about the arrest of a suspect who fatally shot John Randall Patrick, Jr. on June 30.
The family says what's keeping them going through it all are their happy memories of Patrick.
Relatives say 22-year-old John Randall Patrick, Jr. say he was a hard-working family man who, even as a little boy, was well-known for his confidence and calm demeanor.
Following the death of his mother, Patrick joined a grief camp in 2006, and went on to become a highly regarded mentor.
Police say 21-year-old Giovanni Ramos, who knew the victim, surrendered on second-degree manslaughter charges in what some say was an accidental shooting.
Patrick's father and uncle say there are so many unanswered questions about the incident, but are choosing to focus more on the life he led.
