Fire officials said a fire broke out at home on Sunburst Road on Monday morning.
Officials said the homeowner was taken to the hospital with facial burns.
The fire started on the first floor, extending to the second and third floors.
The Bridgeport fire chief says there were hoarding conditions inside the home.
"Trying to conduct a primary search and secondary search and just trying to maneuver hose lines inside of the buildings, it makes it very tough on firefighters, but we were able to overcome, and I think the men and women did a very good job," said Bridgeport Acting Fire Chief Lance Edwards.
There were no injuries to the firefighters.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
