The 107th annual Bridgeport Columbus Day Parade kicked off at Wayne and Jewett Avenues on Sunday.
The parade is the oldest continuously running Columbus Day parade in the state.
The Council of Italian-American Societies of Greater Bridgeport sponsored the event and Assistant Police Chief James Nardozzi served as grand marshal.
Residents of the area say it is a day to celebrate the holiday along with celebrating their cultural heritage.
