Bridgeport police arrested a man who they say robbed a woman late Saturday morning.

The incident happened just after 11 a.m. along Park Avenue.

Detectives say the suspect got away by the time officers responded to the call, but he was spotted shortly after.

The suspect tried to run away, but the responding officers managed to detain him near Grand Street and Madison Avenue.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.

The identity of the suspect or what he tried to steal was not immediately clear as of Saturday night.
