Bridgeport police say they handed out several traffic tickets and confiscated a vehicle this morning in an illegal drag racing bust. Authorities were called to The Home Depot on Reservoir Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. They say they initially responded to a caller reporting a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.
One of the drivers involved said the group was unfairly targeted and claims they were comparing cars, not racing. Mayor Bill Finch says the incident proves the city is cracking down on illicit racing. For extended footage of the Bridgeport drag racing bust, click on iO Extra on Channel 612.
