The Darien Board of Education has reversed an earlier decision, saying it will continue to provide bus service to YMCA after-school programs.
The BOE recently voted to eliminate the service, citing financial and liability issues with transporting children whose parents cannot pick them up. On Tuesday, the YMCA and BOE announced a decision to keep the service intact.
People at the YMCA say up to 50 families depend on the after-school bus service to get their children to a safe place when school ends.
