A new program launched by the government has car dealers from across southwestern Connecticut hopeful for greener days ahead.
The program 'cash for clunkers' offers consumers up to $4,500 if they trade in their clunkers for more fuel-efficient cars. At Georgetown Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge, buyers can get the government money and up to $4,500 from Chrysler toward a new car like the Patriot.
Some consumers say the offer has definitely caught their attention. Fritz Saddler, of Norwalk, says he has always used Chrysler so the incentive is giving him reason to stay. Chrysler is offering the incentive until August 31.
