State regulators revealed planned rate hikes Thursday for customers who bought into President Barack Obama's health care law.
The state's various carriers are asking for different hikes in Affordable Care Act fees next year.
The nonprofit HealthyCT, which dropped its rates last year, is asking for a nearly 14 percent hike.
UnitedHealthCare is asking for 12 percent more, while Anthem Health Plans seeks nearly 7 percent.
The ConnectiCare plan is asking for a 2 percent increase.
The carriers say hospital costs are on the rise and previously uninsured customers tend to be in poorer health, costing more to cover.
The requests must first be approved by state regulators before they can go into effect.
