Bridgeport police say two women and a child were injured in a shooting in the city's North End.
The shooting happened in front of a house on Anson Street. One woman was shot in the groin and the other was shot in the chest. Police say a 9-year-old girl was also struck by bullet fragments, but was not seriously hurt.
Police say at least two gunman opened fire in front of the house, following a dispute one person had with somebody there earlier in the day.
Police Chief AJ Perez is calling on federal lawmakers to pass tougher gun laws.
"Anyone caught with a firearm must be processed federally and sent away for a long time," says Perez.
Police say they're examining surveillance video and hope to make at least two arrests soon.
