Church hit by gunfire in Stamford

Stamford police say someone fired several shots at a church around 6:30 p.m. Monday near the corner of Spruce Street and Stillwater Avenue. Officers say the shooter fired off about a dozen rounds.

Stamford police say someone fired several shots at a church around 6:30 p.m. Monday near the corner of Spruce Street and Stillwater Avenue.
Officers say the shooter fired off about a dozen rounds. One of those went through a window at the Bethel Tabernacle church, but no one was hurt.
Officials say it's not clear whether the shooter was aiming at someone or just randomly firing.
Police are still looking for the suspect.
