Norwalk officials gathered at the corner of Seaview Avenue and Fort Point Street Thursday to celebrate the installation of the longest on-street bike route on any Connecticut state road.
The 10.5-mile route was made possible through a $280,000 Community Connectivity Grant Program from the state Department of Transportation.
Officials say Norwalk created more bike lanes in 2023 than at any point in its history.
The bike route stretches all they way to New Canaan and the shore in Rowayton. It connects east-west across the city from Rowayton to Westport.
