A Western Middle School class trip was cut short after more than 40 kids from Greenwich came down with flu-like symptoms Wednesday.
The illnesses ended a five-day trip to Nature's Classroom in North Colbrook, near the Massachusetts border. Originally only 19 students fell ill, four logging fevers as high as 104 degrees. Those students were picked up by their parents.
The decision to come home was made after more than 30 others began complaining of fatigue and headaches. Parents of the sick students have been asked to take their children to the doctor.
It is too early to tell if the illnesses are swine flu or the flu at all.
