Cloonan Middle School in Stamford was temporarily placed on lockdown Friday after a suspicious note detailing a school shooting was discovered, officials say.
Principal David Tate said the school, in an abundance of caution, was placed in a lockdown around 9 a.m. while police investigated the suspicious note.
Tate says students found a note mentioning a school shooting with a specific date, so they let a teacher know. The teacher then informed the administration.
Police were notified and determined it was not a legitimate threat.
Tate says the school was secured just 15 minutes later and that the lockdown was cleared.
