Colleges and universities in southwestern Connecticut are taking steps to prevent the spread of swine flu should another outbreak of the illness occur in fall and winter months.
Officials from Fairfield University, which had nine confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus earlier this year, say they will focus on separating healthy students from those who have been infected. The university also sent out an e-mail to staff and students, informing them on how to best protect themselves from the virus.
Dean of Students Tom Pellegrino says the university will work more closely with the town's health department in preparation for another possible outbreak.
