Connecticut's newest kid governor was sworn in this morning.
The Connecticut Democracy Center hosted Ella Briggs' inauguration ceremony at Old State House in Hartford. The East Hampton fifth-grader was elected from a pool of seven final candidates in November and is the state's fourth kid governor.
During her one-year term, Ella will work on encouraging LGBTQ youth adoptions, creating safe spaces for students and facilitating teacher training. Ella says she's honored to have been elected and excited to get to work.
