Connecticut will be receiving $300 million over the next 18 years as part of a massive opioid settlement reached Wednesday.

Attorney General William Tong says 15% will be funneled directly to local cities and towns.

The rest will be used for state prevention, treatment and recovery programs.

This settlement does not involve Stamford-based Perdue Pharma, which is still negotiating an even bigger settlement with nearly all 50 states.
