The Connecticut Supreme Court ruled Monday to uphold the state's smoking ban in restaurants and bars.
The state law, which went into effect in 2003, was challenged by a group of bar and restaurant owners who believed it was unconstitutional and hurt their businesses. However, the court rejected the argument with a four-to-one decision.
Private clubs and state casinos are the only organizations exempt from the ban.
