Crews battled a fire that started at a recycling plant in Milford on Sunday.
The flames broke out between the Waste Conversion Technologies building and the Lowe's at 221 Old Gate Lane. The flames spread as a brush fire.
Milford police closed Old Gate Lane for several hours and diverted traffic in the area.
Officials say the piles of mulch, twisted wood and other debris made it difficult to contain the flames.
Residents who live nearby say debris from the fire floated through the air and landed on their lawns.
News 12 Connecticut is told that no one was hurt.
