A showdown is brewing in Westport over a new condominium complex proposed for an area just south of I-95.
Last week, the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission heard arguments regarding the potential 186-unit housing development, which would be constructed in the Old Saugatuck section of Westport.
Opponents of the proposed construction say the project would cause traffic and would forever alter the charm of the neighborhood.
Officials say approval hinges on the commission approving an elaborate septic system.
News 12 Connecticut spoke by phone with the potential building's developer, Felix Charney, who said the project debate was still in its infancy.
