It's got everything from mink coats to kitchen sinks - and everything in between.

'Minks to Sinks,' the biannual community tag sale in Wilton, is back, and a giant white tent at the corner of Rt. 7 and School Road signals its return.

A steady flurry of cars pulled in for hours Tuesday to donate items for individuals and families in need.

"I'm donating a bike that we bought here years ago for our son," Ed Rowley says. "So... the cycle of life."

Hundreds of thousands of items are donated every year to benefit the Family & Children's Agency in Norwalk.

'Minks to Sinks' dates back 90 years and has helped raise $2 million since 1973.

"We get all kinds of exciting things," co-chair Amy Foodman says. "Sometimes people donate toys that their kids have outgrown, and they'll come on Saturday and buy new toys, or they donate items they never use, or things they've had for years and years and years, and are ready to pass them on to another person."

Donations are being accepted until Thursday.

Saturday and Sunday is the big sale.

Organizers say whatever's left over on Monday, local charities can set up a time to shop for their clients for free.

"It's been around forever, and it's a really impressive thing with the amount of work that goes into it by the volunteers," Rowley says. "The fact they can put all of this stuff together in a few days and sell it all in a few days, and raise lots of money for charity... it's a pretty incredible effort."
