Dozens of supporters turned out for Saturday?s Connecticut Challenge, a bike ride that raises money for Yale New Haven Hospital?s Survivorship Clinic.

Despite the heat and humidity, bikers rode for miles and crossed the finish line to help thousands of people in Connecticut who are winning the fight against cancer.

Riders came from near and far and said helping the Survivorship Clinic is a worthy cause because the facility helps survivors in all aspects of their lives. It employs a nutritionist, social worker, physical therapist and oncologist.

Jeffrey Keith, who lost his leg to cancer 30 years ago, founded the clinic. He participated in the bike ride and said he knows all too well how life changes after chemotherapy. ?The problem is down the road the complications that arise. This is where our survivor clinic comes in,? he said.
