A Danbury video production company is part of a new platform for online music that is becoming a worldwide hit.
Yousicplay.com allows students to learn from pre-recorded lessons online and to interact with a professional.
One of the professionals, Corey Henry, even won a Grammy as a member of Snarky Puppy.
The company was created by Alain Merville, a professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Merville, who grew up in Trumbull and Bridgeport, hopes to customize learning for music enthusiasts with things that they care about.
He says his business has grown since the pandemic began because music is a language that everyone can relate to.
"It's one thing that can connect people regardless of culture, regardless of ethnicity," Merville says. "And the powerful thing about music is that it's a means of expression."
He says thousands of people have signed up and some show tremendous promise.
