Monday is the deadline to file income tax returns, and that means many tax preparers were open for business this weekend.
The usual deadline for returns is April 15, but it falls on Emancipation Day this year due to a technicality with the federal calendar.
Charlie Coviello has been preparing people's taxes for more than 20 years and says he has advice for last-minute filers.
"They're entitled to an extension, first of all," he says. "Secondly, I'm also going to tell people getting refunds that they don't have to rush to get it done."
The U.S. Postal Service suggests that those who still need to file tax returns by mail should do so early in the day and make sure to include a return address.
They also recommend having proof of mailed returns.
Officials say all post offices will be open for normal business hours Monday.
