A Southbury man is accused of attempting to sexually assault two juveniles at Kettletown State Park, an official with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says.
DEEP's EnCon police responded to the park Monday for a reported assault.
They say Darius Moreno threatened two juveniles with a knife and tried to sexually assault them. Police also say the juveniles fought off Moreno and received help from other park visitors.
Moreno charges included robbery, assault, threatening, strangulation and carrying a dangerous weapon.
He was arraigned in court Tuesday.
Online court records do not indicate if Moreno entered a plea for those charges.
His next court date is July 21.
