A local dermatologist says front-line workers are experiencing skin problems associated with excessive washing.
Dr. Omar Ibrahimi, of the Connecticut Skin Institute, says health care professionals are washing their hands 10 to 20 times a day to protect themselves from the coronavirus.
Dr. Ibrahimi recommends using an over-the-counter moisturizer several times a day to help.
He also says going without makeup might be part of the new normal until a vaccine is developed for COVID-19.
