There is disappointment and anger today after money from a donation jar was stolen from a Westport hardware store.
The owner of Westport Hardware on the Post Road says someone took the jar for the town's no-kill animal shelter. The money is being raised for the shelter by a 10-year-old boy.
According to the owner, the jar only had approximately $40 when it was taken. He says he has promised to match the money the boy raises, which brings the total to about $400.
