Police are investigating a robbery that occurred just as a bank in Fairfield opened Thursday morning.
Police say the man waited in the vestibule of the Bank of America on Kings Highway Cut Off until the bank opened and was the first person inside. They say he demanded cash from a teller and threatened to hurt her. When he left with the money, the teller called police.
Authorities say the man left in a black Volkswagen driven by another man. The men went west on the Post Road and were gone by the time police arrived. They were able to get a picture of the robber on surveillance video.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at 254-4840.
