An early morning fire Tuesday forced a family from their home in Fairfield.
The fire started around 5:45 a.m. on Congress Street, where officials say a family member noticed smoke coming from the cabana in the back of the house and called the police.
They say when the crews arrived, they needed power tools to reach the fire because it was hidden in a stone wall.
According to fire officials, the fire did not spread to the inside of the home.
No one was injured, and the cause is under investigation.
