A former Stamford High School teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student appeared in court Friday.
Police arrested Danielle Watkins this summer for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old, as well as providing him and another student with marijuana.
Wakins' attorney says his client is going through a very difficult time, and claims there is more to the case than has come out so far.
The attorney for the student says he is confident that the case will be prosecuted fully and have a fair result.
The judge continued the case until Nov. 18. Watkins' attorney says that will give him more time to prepare information for the court.
The principal and vice principal of the school have also been accused of knowing about the sexual relationship but failing to report it, as required by law.
