Recruiters say that there are plenty of jobs for those currently unemployed during this economic slump, but they may have to consider a career change.
Presently, Connecticut?s unemployment rate is just over 6 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. A local expert has said that hiring in the financial district has come to a stand still.
Paul Smith, who owns the executive recruiting company RJS Associates in Stamford, says industries like health care are booming and job availabilities are wide open.
?I felt that there was a lot of opportunity out there,? says Smith. ?You have to be able to go out and get it.?
Paul says that candidates need to assert themselves by networking, looking at employment Web sites and by making phone calls to find work.
