With Election Day only a day away, Fairfield politicians are fitting in some last-minute campaigning.
First Selectman Ken Flatto (D) handed out fliers near local supermarkets reminding voters to hit the polls on Tuesday. The campaigning may have brought Flatto a little extra face time with some residents, but he says it's just as important to ensure people vote regardless of political affiliation.
"Fairfield has a great tradition of a high turnout for elections," says Flatto. "We want a high turnout. We want everyone to vote."
Flatto's Republican opponent John Nelson is spending his final hours working the telephone lines. Nelson also plans to meet with local seniors for a final campaign stop.
