Fairfield firefighters say a brush fire possibly started with fireworks, and they are urging people in the community be careful.
While the cause of the fire is under investigation, firefighters say they were told by residents on Chestnut Street that they heard fireworks before a field erupted into 20-foot flames.
Firefighters say containing the flames took every available member of the department plus some help from Bridgeport, Westport and Norwalk.
Deputy fire chief Kyran Dunn says he wouldn't be surprised if fireworks are to blame.

Fairfield resident Andrea Pane says the booms and bangs have been starting around sunset and are continuing past midnight.
Firefighters say your summer festivities shouldn't include anything beyond a sparkler or small fountain-style display. Dunn says the risks are even greater during a hot and dry summer.
Officials say nearly 10,000 Americans injure themselves every year with fireworks and firecrackers.
Gov. Ned Lamont said Monday that he's not considering an executive order banning fireworks, and that the state is relying on local police departments to enforce fireworks rules.
