In the wake of Wednesday's mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, police in Fairfield say they are prepared for a similar situation should it occur at home.
Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara says the images in California struck a chord with him and many officers. When he heard about the shooting, he first thought about the victims, he says.
According to the chief, the Fairfield Police Department is constantly training to be prepared for a mass shooting. It also has an armored vehicle analogous to the ones used in San Bernardino.
MacNamara also says the public must be prepared for these types of incidents. Should a shooting occur, he suggests running and trying to find a safe place to hide.
