Fairfield school officials say a student made an inappropriate reference the Ku Klux Klan during a class presentation.
A letter from Fairfield Warde High School Principal Paul Cavanna was sent home to parents about the incident on Thursday:
"It is critical now more than ever that we be aware of our words and actions and their impact on those around us. This reiterates the work we have undertaken in partnership with the Anti-Defamation League regarding Intent and Impact. Despite the intent or purpose of any words or actions, people can still be harmed."
The letter did not explain how the KKK was referenced. It is not known what punishment the student will face.
