The Fairfield’s Gymnastics and Cheerleading Academy (GCA) opened a new 11,000-square-foot addition on Thursday.
The business is located at SportsPlex. They are also holding a fundraiser to support kids with cancer. They're accepting donations for the nonprofit "Liv-Free."
"We have over 3,000 families; I feel like we have such a big reach that we can really educate our families about important organizations such as LivFree," said Darcy Appleby from the Gymnastics and Cheerleading Academy.
GCA says they're working hard to keep girls in sports because 45% of females drop out of sports by the age of 14.
They say their efforts align with the new Dove and Nike campaigns, which have the same goal.
