A fallen World War II soldier recently identified by his DNA will be making a final trip to his hometown of Norwalk.
Staff Sgt. Louis Doddo was killed in 1944 during the Battle of Saipan. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency identified his remains just last month.
Doddo's family says his remains are set to be returned to the U.S. next spring when the sergeant can finally have a proper burial.
Doddo's nephew, Ted Tedesco, was 13 years old when his uncle left for war - and 17 years old when he was declared missing. He says his family has been waiting for this last bit of closure for more than 75 years.
Advocates say there are still many families out there who need the same thing - with over 70,000 soldiers still MIA from all wars.
