Milford firefighters responded to a house fire on Andrus Drive Sunday morning.

The fire broke out in the basement of the home just before 9 a.m., then spread to the first and second floor.

Officials say working smoke detectors enabled everyone inside the house at the time to get out safely.

They say the family will be displaced from the home for a while due to smoke and heat damage.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
