A family is asking for the public's help after their youngest child was diagnosed with a serious heart condition.
The parents of 1-year-old Lilly Bass say their daughter will need open-heart surgery and will forever have heart problems.
On Saturday, residents will take part in a benefit softball game that will go toward Bass' medical bills. The annual game donates to a different charity every year, according to organizers.
Lilly's mom, Candice Johnson, says she was told while pregnant that her daughter had holes in her heart, causing oxygen to struggle to reach parts of her body. She says doctors do not know how long her heart will hold out before Lilly needs surgery.
Eventually, she will also need a heart transplant.
The family has also set up a GoFundMe page.
