There is a major new regulatory change this morning that
could help make abortions more accessible in the United States.
The FDA is expected to allow the sale of an abortion pill
at certified retail pharmacies.
The drug "Mifepristone" is the first of two
drugs administered in a medical abortion.
Previously, the pill was only available through mail or by
specially certified doctors.
Women will still need a prescription, but the number of
pharmacies that can offer the drug will be more widely available.
CVS says
it’s now reviewing the updated
requirements.
