More than 100 people escaped a large fire at the Jewish Community Center in Woodbridge Monday evening.

Officials say they received a call around 3:50 p.m., although the alarms in the building had rung about twenty minutes prior. The Woodbridge Fire Department, with the help of the Orange, Bethany and Seymour departments, was able to get the blaze under control just over an hour later.

News 12 is told 100 to 150 people were in the building at the time of the fire, but they were evacuated and were directed to neighboring Brookdale Woodbridge, an assisted living facility.

They say no injuries have been reported.

Judy Diamondstein, the CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, says the fire started in one of the building's saunas on its lower level.
