Bridgeport firefighters are battling a major building fire Thursday night.
Fire officials are on the scene at a vacant warehouse near Railroad and Hancock avenues.
In an exclusive interview, Mayor Bill Finch told News 12 Connecticut's Sarah Hagan that the building is vacant and is surrounded by other vacant buildings.
City officials are asking people to turn down their air conditioners and close their windows so smoke doesn't come into their home.
City officials say two firefighters were hospitalized from heat exhaustion.
Officials say the fire had caused delays on Metro-North's New Haven line between Southport and Bridgeport.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
